What HYDRYON™ Is
HYDRYON™ is the flagship product of Azurith Labs and the first expression of our platform—an oxygen-activated topical gel designed to support two important areas of consumer need:
- Primary focus: compromised or visibly damaged skin, including actinic-appearing and dysregulated skin concerns
- Secondary focus: everyday wound care, including minor cuts, abrasions, and superficial skin injuries
HYDRYON™ is designed to help bridge the space between aggressive or expensive interventions on one side, and generic or mechanistically limited OTC options on the other.
The Science
HYDRYON™ is built around a fundamental biological concept: controlled oxidative activity.
Compromised cells, including dysregulated or pre-cancerous tissue, often exhibit reduced antioxidant defenses, particularly lower catalase activity. Healthier surrounding cells generally maintain stronger protective systems against oxidative stress.
This biological difference creates the foundation for HYDRYON™’s mechanism-driven approach. Upon application, the formulation is designed to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), creating oxidative conditions that may be less tolerable to compromised tissue while remaining more manageable for healthier surrounding tissue.
In wound care settings, oxidative activity also has a broad multi-site antimicrobial effect, disrupting microbial membranes, proteins, and genetic material. Unlike single-target antibiotic mechanisms, oxidative approaches act more broadly, which may reduce the likelihood of adaptation.
